We’re celebrating becoming the Official Partner of Aston Villa Women's Football Club.
To mark the occasion, we’re sharing the story of Scottish captain, Aston Villa W.F.C defender, and our very own Gym+Coffee Ambassador, Rachel Corsie!
Rachel Corsie has over 130 caps and 18 goals for her country, making her a key player in Scotland’s football success. In fact, Corsie played her part in making a little bit of history in 2011, when she led her team to a win over England for the first time in 34 years.
Since then, the footballer’s career has gone from strength to strength and she earned her 100th cap for her country in Scotland's 2019 FIFA World Cup qualifying win over Poland.
Flash forward to 2022, when Corsie was announced as Aston Villa’s third and final signing of the January transfer window and we are absolutely buzzing to follow her on this incredible journey.
Off the pitch, Corsie is a huge advocate for mental health, encouraging fellow athletes and fans alike to speak out, get help and join in this very important conversation. On the podcast Behind the Goals, which Corsie co-hosts with Leanne Crichton, she dives into a variety of different topics, including the importance of the Black Lives Matter movement and equality in sport.
A powerful voice in football, Corsie aims to inspire, encourage and act as a role model for young people, both on and off the pitch, saying, “It’s really important to continue to be an inspiration to the younger generations so everyone knows they have a place in sport.”
Corsie joins the Gym+Coffee team as part of The Make Life Richer Seven, alongside six other incredible athletes; Jodie Taylor, Tammy Beaumont, Danni Wyatt, Carla Humphrey and Sandy McIver.
The collective celebrates these women, their talents, their power and their individual journeys to get them to the top of their game.
